About Seedfall
Seedfall is a student-led seagrass restoration project entered in the Conrad Challenge 2026–27 Energy & Environment category. The team is based at Eton College. Jermaine Antwi and Austin Huang co-lead engineering, research and operations; Kaius Vun leads creative direction, film and visual storytelling.
The project explores a biodegradable pod that could place eelgrass seeds just below the seabed after being released from a small boat. This is a design goal, not a demonstrated restoration result. The team has modelled pod landing and stability. Tank drops, checks of seed placement, and sea trials are still needed before the approach can be judged in real restoration conditions.
Restoration teams, researchers and potential partners can contact the team to discuss the design and test plan. See the homepage for the current concept and research references.
